Mumbai Municipal Corporation Education Department in its annual list has declared 211 schools as unauthorised in the city. Since these schools were running without government and Municipal permissions they have been asked to close down with immediate effect. The education officer has also appealed the parents to admit their wards in recognised schools only. Taking necessary approvals from the government and the Municipal Corporation before running a school is mandatory failing which penal action can be taken against the school management.
