Uttar Pradesh has always been notorious for rampant cheating and use unfair means during the time of board exams. 58 lakh students are registered to take UP Board exams commencing from February 7th 2019. The Government will be undertaking strict measures to curb the menace. The centres that reported the maximum number of cheating cases will be closely monitored. Adhaar of the students has been linked with registration at district-wise sensitive and suspicious exam centres.
Strict vigilance last year resulted in 67 arrests, a press printing answer sheets being unearthed in Jaunpur, bursting of a gang involved in leaking of the questions papers in Hardoi and impersonators being caught in Kaushambi and Aligarh.
Schools who wish to become exams centres will now have to apply online and submit the details of the facilities. Selection will be made by a software designed to choose from those which fulfill the parameters and criteria. Due to the UP government’s efforts, use to unfair means during examinations has stopped and the number of students enrolling in government schools has risen by 18-20%.
