A serious goof-up by the Telangana Board of Intermediate has triggered a spate of suicide by students and protests by parents and students demanding action against the higher-ups in the Board and the Globarena Technologies, an IT company, which was allegedly found guilty of the massive bungling.

In a sheer negligence of duty, a teacher gave a student ‘0’ marks instead of ‘99’ in the board exam. Guilty teachers have been either suspended or a fine has been imposed on them by the board. The government has also announced free re-verification of answer sheets of over 3 lakh students who have been declared as failed in the examination.
