‘Boards’ are dreaded not only in India but UAE too. Many students of grade 10 and 12 are taking the CBSE boards there but the schools there are going an extra mile to formulate strategies and techniques to help students beat exam anxiety.

The Indian High School (IHS) has arranged pick and drop facilities for all the students taking the boards from their location to the school. Here they are engaged in relaxation activities like some breathing techniques before boarding the bus again to take them to the exam centre. During the journey each student is given a ‘de-stress’ kit which includes stress balls, fidget spinners, bubble wrap strips and magical spring. The school’s auditorium has aroma candles, incense and oil burners to calm the body and mind. Priests from different faiths came to bless the students before they embarked for the exam centre. The school also arranged for the personal messages for the students sent by their parents. Having some fun with friendly pet dogs before the exam was also a part of a thoughtfully devised series of de-stress programmes. Soft soothing music played on the bus.
