The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Nepal had issued a notice in June stating that a ‘no objection letter’ will be issued to only those students who have completed grade 12 and want to pursue academic courses of bachelor’s level or above abroad. Those who wish to pursue non-academic, vocational or language courses in countries like Australia and Japan will not be given the NOC. Obtaining the ‘No objection letter’ is mandatory for necessary foreign currency exchange to study abroad.
No objection letter can be issued to those who want to pursue technical and vocational education, language courses and academic bridge courses provided they give evidence to substantiate that they will be enrolled in a university to pursue academic course after completing the vocational or language course.
This directive will greatly affect the students to go to Japan to pursue a language course without even having passed grade 12.
