Hyderabad based edtech Sunitha Infovision Ltd in association with Secure Space has organized a hackathon for 6th – 9th graders belonging to age group of 11 – 14 yrs. Hackathon, or Codefest, is a coding marathon. School Hackathons and especially in government schools are rare. Given by the sheer size of the students involved, it may even find a mention in Limca Book of Records. Computer programming and coding in schools is becoming a part of the curriculum and Indian children are making a mark in the coding world.

Students of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) mostly belonging to underprivileged and rural backgrounds are taught coding at par with the best of corporate schools too would be participating. TSWREIS was established with a vision of building an outstanding government education institution providing high quality holistic and value based education to the marginalized children.
