CBSE Examination Controller has clarified that the board exam assessments will be based on the syllabus prescribed by CBSE and not as given in the NCERT books pertaining to classes 9 to 12. The clarification came after it was noticed that in some places it was mentioned in the NCERT books that a particular part of the book was not for the purpose of examination/assessment.

According to a board official, examinations are held to assess the holistic and deep understanding of the concepts regarding the subject by the student. The board has urged the schools, parents and students to check the class 10 and 12 syllabus uploaded by CBSE on their official website.
