The Lohit District administration in Arunachal Pradesh has come up with a unique idea to combat space crunch in schools which is one of the main reasons for dropouts in the district. It has turned an unused bus into a classroom, complete with tables, chairs and stationary.

‘School on bus’ idea has been much appreciated and accepted by the students. It has also boosted attendance rate as earlier junior students were made to sit with seniors and the teachers giving lessons to both simultaneously.

The district administration is considering revamping more such abandoned buses.
