There should neither be a  negative comment on a child’s artistic capabilities and nor should he be compared with another child so that the child can perform without any fear of being judged. The teacher is to assess the process and not the product thereby treating art as a tool and not a subject.  

There are specific separate guidelines for teaching art at pre-primary, primary and upper primary level including detailed capacity building, planning of activities, planning time and resources, classroom management and community involvement. Art will be used as a pedagogical tool. Stakeholders will be required to be oriented to understand the importance and relevance of this pedagogy.
