His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai reviewed the progress of the ‘Emirati School Model’ in a cabinet meeting and also allocated Dh 5 billion to invest in ‘state-of-the-art’ infrastructure for schools over a period of six years.
The Emirati School Model is enforced in 800 public and private schools following the curriculum of the Ministry of Education with the intention of preparing generations capable of achieving the objectives of UAE vision 2021 and UAE Centennial Strategy 2071.
The model aims to impart a balanced holistic education along with modern curriculum on international standards to meet the needs of the job market.
To attain a standardized education system a ‘Unified System’ was introduced in 2017 which aligned the education systems of the federal ministry and Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek). The ministry was to ensure compliance of the laws, regulations and policies by the schools in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and Adek would assess the school’s performance through annual inspections.
