Children’s home in Senguttai in Katpadi region of Vellore district celebrated Pongal with the Katpadi branch members of the Indian Red Cross Society. This home is run by the Department of Social welfare, Government of India.
Pongal is a week long festival. It’s main dish, also called Pongal, was served and much relished by the children. Mr S Ganesh, Revenue Divisional Officer-Vellore and president of IRC said that Red Cross will do what it can to help children in the field of education. It will provide scientific equipment to schools so as to get them interested in research activities.
