Gems Education has withdrawn from Our Own High School in Fujairah over the ongoing legal dispute with the property’s landlord. Gems was unable to pay the teachers’ salaries in July after the negotiations over the terms of renewal of long-term lease fell through.
The parents are quite worried over the change of management due to this as they have already paid the tuition fee for the current academic year. They are concerned over the school maintaining CBSE accreditation. The British accreditation is confirmed but if the school were to no longer follow the Indian curriculum, it would be difficult for the children to find a place at the emirate’s two other Indian schools.
The school has reassured the parents that everything will function as usual but the parents are apprehensive. Ever since the school reopened on September 1st, it has been operating with the Gems Logo.
