To encourage creative answers and discourage rote learning, some constructive changes are in store by CBSE in the pattern of questions for the class 10 from the current academic year. CBSE would be modifying the current format of objective questions carrying 20 marks. They would now be a mix of multiple-choice answers, fill in the blanks or one sentence answers. Major changes are expected in the theory part carrying 60 marks. The section would have fewer question carrying more marks to encourage long form and creative answers. For Practical/internal assessment segment of 20 marks, the students would now have to create a portfolio on a particular subject and their learning during the year. The sample question papers would be made available on CBSE official website from July 2019.
