Addressing a convocation ceremony, the Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank reinforced that India had been the world leader of knowledge in science for times immemorial citing reference of Yoga and Ayurveda. He also asserted that Sanskrit is the most scientific language and is decipherable by computer. He also called it the first language of the world.
Talking about the new education policy being introduced after 33 years he said that the change in curriculum will focus on market-driven education. 12 lakh smart classes are being launched as a part of ‘operation digital board’. Students will be encouraged to plant a tree on their birthday to encourage tree plantation.
