Amity school, Dubai school has included ‘My Story’, penned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in the curriculum for their Grades 6 and 7 students. Although the school follows a CBSE pattern but, per Principal Sangita Chima,  this was done with the aim to connect the young minds with the land they reside in and the leader who has seen the history of the land. It is a good combination of literature, language and is an easy read and interesting at the same time. ‘My Story’ is a collection of anecdotes, experiences and philosophies that shaped Sheikh Mohammed’s vision of the historic development and growth of Dubai.

The book has instantly clicked with the students and the best part is that they will not no exam for this book. Rather there will be a skill based formative assessment where they will be evaluated on the basis of their life skills like speaking, writing, reading, vocabulary, creative thinking and interpersonal skills.
