State-run schools under West Bengal government will now re-open on June 10th as against June 30th. This decision was shared by state education minister Partha Chatterjee in a facebook post where he mentions that the primary and secondary school shall reopen on June 10th and that the necessary notice will be issued by the education department, secondary cell.

Initially the state government had announced two month summer vacation keeping in mind the super cyclone Fani and the extreme heat conditions. The teachers, however,  were not too happy with this arrangement as they were worried of completing the syllabus on time.
