Following the release of the annual Education Cost Index (ECI), KHDA announced that Private schools in Dubai will not be eligible to increase their tuition fee from the new academic year. With the opening of 72 new schools in Dubai over the last 7 years there has been a 31% increase in the number of students attending private schools.
Schools increase their fees per the KHDA guidelines which depend on the ECI inspection results. The ECI of -2.35% this year indicates that the fees for the 2020-21 academic year will remain unchanged. However, some private schools may be eligible for an exceptional fee increase if they fulfil the criteria as outlined in ‘Exceptional Fee Framework’ guidelines.
