The Knowledge Summit released this year’s Global Knowledge Index on November 19th and UAE continues to rise in global ranking of knowledge based societies. It secured 18th rank amongst 136 countries in an index that measures various sectors like pre-university education, technical and vocational education and training, higher education, research development and innovation, information and communications technology, economy and general enabling environment. UAE is aiming to be one of the top 10 countries in the next one or two years. UAE is also leading regionally in terms of measures for a knowledge based society.
On the other hand, the UAE received a low ranking of 133 out of 136 countries in environment. It got 132nd rank in the total CO2 emissions per capita section.
