NITI Aayog has advised the government to allocate more funds towards quality education in school, higher and vocational education with recommendation to improve enrolment, learning outcome, employability, reducing stress on school children and improve learning outcomes at elementary levels. World bank too warns of a global learning crisis. It has been found that 60% of class 5 students score less than 50% marks.

Due to general perception that private schools give better quality education they are preferred over government schools and quality education can be achieved by allocating adequate funds in the sector.
