The DoE has issued directives for the online admission process from class 2 onward for children belonging to the economically weaker sections seeking admittance against the available seats in private schools built on government land.
The application forms will be available on the DoE’s website from Tuesday (19th Feb) and the last date of submission is March 4. The first list of selected candidates will be declared on March 15. It is for the first time that the admission for Class II onward will be conducted centrally. Initially it was only for the entry-level classes.
It has now been decided that the seats available under the quota will be alloted through computerized draw of lots of online applications. Residents of Delhi with less than one lakh annual income having the requisite documents are eligible to apply in these Private Unaided Recognized Schools for admission under EWS category.
Any grievances, complaints or queries can be registered at the DoE’s website or at helpline numbers 8800355192 and 9818154069. The DoE has fixed an upper age limit of 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 years for Classes II to IX respectively.
