The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has directed all school heads to register the candidates eligible for appearing in the compartmental examination online by mid-June. They shall have one week’s time to comply through its official website. The examination will be held in July. Students who are not awarded the pass certificate can appear for the compartmental exam provided they have failed in only one subject and have secured pass marks in English and three other subjects in ICSE and English and two subjects in ISC examination. Candidates will take only theory paper exam. Their internal marks will be carried forward. If the ICSE and ISC candidate was absent during the internal assessment time of the subject, he/she can submit assignment/project work along with taking the theory paper.
Once clearing the compartmental exam the student shall return the previous statement of marks in original through the school to obtain the fresh certificate. This is the first time that the council has introduced compartmental exams from 2019 giving a chance to the candidates to clear class X or XII without having to wait for a year.
