In a bid to converse water and also instill a sense of responsibility among the students, CBSE has directed all its affiliated schools to make sure that each student saves at least one litre of water everyday at home and in school. All affiliated schools are directed to set a target and become water efficient schools in the next three years. The students and the school will have to proactively participate in the Jal Shakti Abhiyaan and create new eco clubs as well as strengthen the existing ones. Setting the agenda for the schools to follow, CBSE has said that the eco clubs would continue to promote environment and climate literacy and also motivate learners become masters in environmental sustainability. The focus of this year’s co-curricular activities from primary to senior secondary classes will be water conservation.
