CBSE in its recently released circular has directed all its affiliated schools to use the latest political map of India created by the Survey of India (SoI) for all purposes. The map is available on the SoI official website, http://www.surveyofindia.gov.in, and is also on sale at their offices across the country
As per the circular issued, SoI has also made a New Education Series Maps for specific geographical areas with Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Grid. These have been created for Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab/Haryana, Karnataka, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh.
The schools need to refer to these maps for all teaching and training purposes, for Social Science subjects and map work in Geography, Social Science, History and Political Science.
