Lalrinnungi has topped the Mizoram’s High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) with 97.2%  among 17000 students of Mizoram. She scored a 100 in Science, 97 in Mathematics and Mizo, 98 in Social Sciences and 94 in English. She belongs to a family of Fruit and Vegetable seller and also used to help her parents in between studies whenever she got and opportunity.
