Government from time to time given clear guidelines as regards the weight of the school bag for students from classes 1 to 10. Acting on the tipoff, the Department of School and Mass Education of Odisha has instructed the District Collectors and District Education Officers (DEOs) to inspect the schools in the state and take strict action against those not following the rules. The Regional Director CBSE, Bhubneshwar has also been asked to issue necessary instructions to the CBSE affiliated schools regarding same and also to ensure that the use of NCERT prescribed books are being followed.
