The Bihar Government has been directed by the Patna High Court to submit a report detailing the steps taken to ensure education to the visually impaired students of the state. A PIL had been filed in this regard by Mr Raj Kumar Ranjan wherein the government was to initiate in opening schools for visually impaired girl students at Jagdishpur block of Bhagalpur district. Mr Ranjan had donated land in the district for the school but the state had not taken any initiative. In the wake of the public interest, the court extended the scope of the petition to the whole state.
