Good news for the students of class 1 – 12!!  NCERT is giving final touches to reducing their syllabus by 10-15% under curriculum rationalisation programme from the next academic year. This will apply to all the schools affiliated with CBSE and State Boards which follow their syllabus.

HRD Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar had announced in February that implementation could take 1 -2 years but after receiving more than one lakh suggestions he is hopeful that 10-15% of the syllabus can be reduced from the next academic year and further reduction can happen the following year.

Shri Javadekar also said that they have around 7-8 million teachers which was sufficient but their deployment was an issue. Also in a bid to reduce the number of single-teacher schools and for maintaining a healthy student teacher ratio in all government schools, failure to efficiently deploy them across its schools by the state would impact release of their central grant.
