To discourage rote learning and lay emphasis on analytical skills and reasoning abilities CBSE might change class X and XII board exam question paper pattern from 2020. According to the new pattern it will include short answer-type questions ranging from 1-5 marks. The exams will be wrapped up early with vocational course exams to be held in February and the final board exam to conclude in March
If this proposal submitted by CBSE to the ministry gets approved it will lead to improved quality of academics in institutions such as teachers, learning outcomes and pedagogy. Besides ensuring quality education the board has also suggested to the HRD Ministry to also take into consideration the academic quality of an institution at the time of their affiliation and renewals
