The class XII English (Core) board exam question paper pattern has been amended by CBSE. Based on the feedback received from subject experts, stakeholders and Committee of Courses of the Board, the section A (Reading) will consist of two passages instead of three. Passage one will have 5 Multiple Choice Questions, 9 very short answer type questions and 3 short answer type questions.

There will be 2 long answer type questions related to passage two. There will be 19 questions in all in section A carrying 30 marks in all. The total of questions in the entire question paper has been brought down to 35 as against 40. The students can visit the CBSE official website for a sample paper with revised marking scheme. These amendments will be beneficial to students who found the question paper lengthy and were unable to complete it within the stipulated time frame.
