Oxford university Press (OUP) has released the second english-english-kannada dictionary. It has more than 52,000 translations and one word equivalents in simple Kannada. Sivaramakrishnan Venkateswaran, Managing Director, Oxford University Press India said that their second bilingual dictionary in Kannada is not just pedagogically advanced but also designed keeping in mind contemporary methods of learning and teaching. It also enables speakers of Kannada to learn English.
Hindi, Punjabi, Assamese, Bengali, Odia, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, and Urdu are the 12 Indian languages OUP has released the bilingual dictionaries in.
Pronunciation guide too is provided both in international phonetic alphabet and in Kannada. It also contains example sentences, synonyms, antonyms and more than 200 illustrations and detailed notes in Kannada on English grammar. 5 appendices cover prefixes, suffixes and irregular verbs.
